With drying the most energy hungry part of any on-premise laundry, Girbau UK has launched a new range of high efficiency tumble dryers that will help cut laundry energy bills. All four models in the new Girbau ED Series EcoDryer range are believed to be the most energy efficient conventional tumble dryers available. They offer a range of load capacities: 13kg, 17kg, 23kg and 33kg.
Girbau has employed a range of new heat capture technologies such as cabinet insulation and a double-glazed door to optimise energy efficiency and prevent heat escaping from ED Series dryers to the laundry. Large opening doors make loading and unloading easy and the large capacity lint filter is very quick and easy to access and clean. The highly reliable and accurate built-in humidity control system automatically senses when clothes are dry and activates the cool down process maximising energy efficiency and assuring textile care.
Girbau ED Series EcoDryers feature intuitive and easy to use controls. There are 10 preset programs catering for most commonly laundered fabrics and new programs are also easy to set up, if required. Three short-cut functions are ideal for day-to-day adjustment: Eco automatically reduces energy consumption for greatest energy efficiency; Soft adjusts drum movement and temperature for delicate items and there is a Half-Load function as well. All three can be used in combination as required. Gas-heated versions are the most economical to run and electric models are also available in all sizes.
Representing a new generation in tumble drying technology and designed to be more energy efficient than any other conventional dryer, ED Series EcoDryers feature Girbau’s TRANSFLOW technology. This is a combination of both radial and axial airflow for maximum efficiency and drying throughout the drum, reduced cycle times and lower energy costs.
“Professional launderers know that drying is by far the most expensive part of their process,” says Peter Marsh, managing director of Girbau UK. “With energy costs high and expected to only go higher Girbau’s research and development teams have invested heavily to bring to market the most energy efficient conventional dryers available today.”
“Customers looking to reduce energy bills immediately by upgrading to our new ED Series EcoDryers can take advantage of our Compete Laundry Care package,” Peter Marsh adds. “There is no upfront capital cost as equipment rental, service and maintenance are all included in an affordable fixed monthly payment.”
While energy-saving is the key feature of the ED Series, the dryers also offer the durability and low-maintenance for which Girbau has a long-established reputation. Girbau’s exclusive G-drive system manages the operation of the inverter and motor controlling drum speed so that programs precisely match the drying needs of each different type of fabric while also ensuring the dryer delivers optimal efficiency, longer life and the lowest possible total cost of ownership.
The large drum is manufactured from top quality stainless steel plate and seated on a shaft with bearing rather than support wheels. This ensures very quiet operation and trouble-free long life. The drum’s unique Care Touch design and manufacture with no sharp edges also prolongs linen life. In addition the dryer’s flat-blade high-speed fan with no inner joints ensures high performance stability and low machine maintenance.
